Poetry, Kids and Shel Silverstein with Unload Creative Writing in Newcastle!

I’ve been spending my days rhyming with children!

I’ve had an incredibly rewarding opportunity. I was contacted by Suzie and Aleeta from Unload Creative Writing and asked to be their guest poet for the school term. I read some of my own poems and then also Shel Silverstein’s Don’t Bump the Glump and A Giraffe and a Half to spruce up some rhyming juice. I’m currently working on a story about how Unload began, but in the meantime, you can check out their website and blog to learn more about what they are doing. To see some of the hilarious poems the kids came up with, including one of my favourites about the very hungry Chompalawomapa, click this link! All photos courtesy Justine Cogan Potter.
